Adrian Dater: Both teams rue missed chances, but Rangers persevere in triple OT

The game was over in the first overtime. Matt Hendricks crushed Ryan McDonagh with a clean hit, took the puck and fed Troy Brouwer with a backhand pass to the front of the net. A correspondent ability to put the puck into a wide open right part of the net and the Washington Capitals' ticket to Game 4 with a 2-1 lead of the Eastern Conference semifinals over the New York Rangers was assured. But Brouwer simply missed it, wide right.
